Diving activities on wrecks

This week was the start for diving activities on wrecks off the Swedish south coast. Diving activities have already been carried out in Germany and will also be carried out in both Estonia and Poland during the summer. 330kg ghost nets has been retrieved so far in German waters and through these activities, ghost nets are also mapped in order to be safely retrieved later.

In Sweden, the activities for the coming weeks, is carried out outside Karlskrona. Localized wrecks are examined with a so called ROV, remotely operated underwater vehicle, to see how much ghost nets are present. From this knowledge, an action plan is made for how to clean the wrecks in a wreck and dive safe manner.
